Locality: United States, Texas, Jeff Davis, Bottom of canyon of Right Hand Creek, ca. 2.4-2.5 airmiles SW of preserve's main gate on St. Rt. 118, ca. 1.1 airmiles E of Lockes Gap. Davis Mountains Preserve.

Habitat: Shrub to 3' tall; stems and leaves glutinous, shiny; ray florets absent; disk florets white; occasional on fairly steep rocky rhyolite slope supporting ponderosa pine- alligator juniper- Emory oak- gray oak forest. Associates include Arbutus xalapensis, Juniperus deppeana, Monarda sp., Pinus remota, P. ponderosa, Prunus serotina, Quercus emoryi, Q. grisea, Q. hypoleucoides, Vitis arizonica.
