Habitat:
Locally frequent at edge of dense mesquite brush in bottom of shallow valley between moderate slopes of underlain by El Pico Clay, on soils mapped as Pryor sandy clay loam, gently undulating. Associates include Acacia schaffneri, Acleisanthes longiflora, Clematis drummondii, Colubrina texensis, Condalia hookeri, Cynanchum barbigerum, Diospyros texana, Ephedra antisyphilitica, Lycium carolinianum, Oxalis dichondrifolia, Prosopis glandulosa, Rhus microphylla, Schaefferia cuneifolia, Tridens texanus, Verbesina microptera.
