Habitat: Occasional in lower quality/more heavily utilized grassland in pasture in mesquite savanna on deep sand of gently undulating landscape of South Texas Holocene Sand Sheet. Associates include Aphanostephus skirrhobasis, Centunculus minimus, Chamaecrista texana, Chloris cucullata, Cnidoscolus texanus, Coreopsis nuecensoides, Croton spp., Eragrostis secundiflora, Evolvulus alsinoides, Gaillardia amblyodon, Lesquerella grandiflora, Lobelia berlandieri, Matelea parviflora, Monarda citriodora, Opuntia spp., Phlox drummondii, Plantago hookeriana, P. rhodosperma, Sabatia campestris, Scutellaria muriculata, Setaria spp., Stillingia sylvatica, Verbena halei, and Zornia diphylla.
