Sloping upland. Sandy loam (Annona-Freestone, Kullit-Addielou, and Woodtell complexes). Pine-hardwood forest dominated by Pinus echinata, P. taeda, Quercus falcata, Q. alba, and Liquidamber. Locally common in disturbed opening near Preserve entrance. Rays whitish, disc yellow. "Slender Fleabane".
