Locality: United States, Texas, Presidio, Chinati Mtns. State Natural Area. Along a small arroyo which drains the Cienega to the SE.

Habitat: Chihuahuan Desert Scrub of Fouquieria, Opuntia imbricata, Jatropha dioica, Forestiera on rocky outcrops. Sporobolus airoides dominant in drainage. Perennial with ascending branches. Bracts white and very conspicuous.
