Locality: United States, Texas, Presidio, Chinati Mtns. State Natural Area. Cinco de Mayo Canyon, parallel and to W of San Antonio Canyon. N-facing bouldery slope above a spring on slopes of N-S trending canyon.

Habitat: Even-grained "composted granite" red substrate. Associates include Quercus pungens, Baccharis glutinosa, Brickellia laciniata, Viguiera stenoloba, Rhus virens, Prosopis, Celtis, Opuntia imbricata, Aloysia wrightii, and Garrya. Erect annual. Fls greenish. In loose soil and leaflitter in shade of Quercus grisea.
