Habitat: Fen on county and private land and managed by The Nature Conservancy. Grand River travels through center of fen (4m wide). Near river area dominated by Cyperaceae, Typha, and Dasiphora fruticosa; shrubs of Rubus and Cornus near woodland upland edges. In most eastern section of the prairie fen, south of Grand River, in the middle of aspen, white pine, Larix laricina, Toxicodendron vernix, and Frangula alnus, 150m west of road. Wooded prairie fen. Dominant herbaceous vegetation includes Solidago and Carex. Ground hummocky and moist to dry.
Description: Population - common, several stalks per 1m2, rhizomous, not flowering in immediate area. Growing with Carex stricta, Solidago gigantea, and Frangula alnus.
