Habitat: Fen on county and private land and managed by The Nature Conservancy. Grand River travels through center of fen (4m wide). Near river area dominated by Cyperaceae, Typha, and Dasiphora fruticosa; shrubs of Rubus and Cornus near woodland upland edges. In southwestern portion of prairie fen, 10m north of woody southern border, small wooded stream runs along west side. Stream runs along west side of quadrat. Stream wooded with white cedar, Frangula alnus, and Viburnum. Carex, Dasiphora fruticosa, and Asteraceae dominated area. Invasion by Frangula alnus and Solanum dulcamara. Ground hummocky and wet/muddy.
Description: Population - fruiting in stream, many fruits spent, 2 rows of yellow seeds. Associated with Oxypolis ridigior and Carex leptalea. Silky roots.
