Plants quite smooth, sparsely strigose and hirsute, without red papillae; stems red, angled, almost 2 m. high; leaves not wavy, with some midribs; sepal-tips divergent, subterminal; bracts spreading; stigma yellowish, lobes divergent; stamens exceeding petals; many buds dying; hypanthium and sepals green
