W. facing road bank above stream at base of steep boulder strewn slope with in damp gravelly soil; associates include Ribes inerme, Anisantha tectorum, Taraxacum officinale, Epilobium sp., Veronica sp.; annual; stems and leaves reddish; calyx lobes ciliate; corolla yellow with red-spotted throat; locally common in patches.
