Habitat: Bouldery canyon in pinyon-juniper-oak woodland.
Associated Species: Quercus emoryi, Quercus arizonica, Pinus discolor, Juniperus deppeana, Arctostaphylos pungens, Schizachyrium, Bouteloua curtipendula, Bothriochloa barbinodis, Elionurus barbiculmis, Dasylirion wheeleri, Penstemon barbatus, Castilleja tenuiflora, Carphochaete bigelovii.
Description: Tree, 5 m; locally common; leaves whitish abaxially.
