Habitat: Oak-mesquite grassland.
Associated Species: Quercus emoryi, Quercus oblongifolia, Prosopis velutina, Baccharis sarothroides, Juniperus deppeana, Yucca madrensis, Arctostaphylos pungens, Dasylirion wheeleri, Eragrostis curvula, Aristida ternipes, Fouquieria splendens, Bothriochloa barbinodis, Melinis repens, Agave palmeri, Echinocereus rigidissimus, Bouteloua curtipendula, Viguiera dentata var. lancifolia, Disakisperma dubium, Trachypogon spicatus, Nolina microcarpa.
Description: Perennial forb, 1.2 m; leaves opposite; flowers yellow.
