USA, New Mexico, Catron, 5 miles east of the Frisco River bridge at Reserve, Nm along NM Highway 12. Along roadside in riadfill materials.

Loamy soils. Exposed to full sun. Common in area. Wetter than normal conditions have resulted in extensive blooming this year.
Sphaeralcea fendleri, Argemone squarrosa, Fallugia paradoxa, Cleome serrulata, Physalis lobata, Cucurbita foetidissima.
Plant approximately 80 cm tall, branching at base to three main stems. Single taproot, Seeds not yet formed in this population. Photographic slides accompany the holotype. Capitula in population have varying shades of pink and red florets, these reddish.
