Abstract: South Mountain Park is the largest city park in the world. This checklist of plants growing wild within the park is mainly based on a paper by Thomas F. Daniel and Mary L. Butterwick, "Flora of the South Mountains of South-central Arizona" (Desert Plants 10(3), 1992). This paper has much general information on the park and its flora and short descriptions of each species. Since that publication several additional species have been located in the park and some nomenclatural changes have been made.
