Leaf blade 3-pinnate proximally; pinnae usually ± perpendicular to rachis, not overlapping. 2 n = 58. Sporulating late spring--summer. Cliffs and rocky slopes, on a variety of acidic to mildly basic substrates; 0--2300 m; Calif., Nev.; Mexico in Baja California.
