We have a collection of about 7500 specimens that are primarily from the southern Appalachians. These include about 2500 specimens from Polk County and vicinity that were collected by O. M. Freeman in the 1950's, and about 1500 specimens from the Bent Creek Herbarium of the U.S. Forest Service.
