Disturbed area. Gravely parking area/vehicle turn-around. Dry grassland. Other weedy species in area, cheatgrass and filaree. A water ditch, located to the west of collection site, has some riparian vegetation.
Annual. Florets arranged alternately along reduced rachis. Each floret breaking off separately once dry. small fibrous root system. Seed from which plant germinated usually found in the middle of root mass.
