Tidal fresh marsh. Soil characteristics: Dirego muck, tidal (6) - very deep, very poorly drained, rapidly permeable soils in tidal areas along bays and the Gulf Coast on northwestern (panhandle) Florida and are flooded daily during normal high tides. They formed in well decomposed organic material overlying stratified sandy marine sediments. It is in the Salt Marsh ecological community. Associate plant species: Cladium jamaicense, Rubus trivialis, Calystegia sepium, Kosteletzkya virginica, Rumex verticillatus, Bacopa monnieri, Alternanthera philoxeroides, Baccharis halimifolia, Ilex vomitoria, Schoenoplectus tabernaemontani, Panicum repens, Vitis rotundifolia, Vigna luteola, Juncus roemerianus, Persicaria hydropiperoides, Ruppia maritima, Cynanchum angustifolium, Ampelopsis arborea, Centella erecta, Typha latifolia, Ceratophyllum demersum. Common.
