Flower head borne on STEMS 1 1/2 to 3' tall, flattened; LEAVES 1 to 2' long, grass-like, DISTRIBUTION red-fir to alpine belts, 7,000 to 11,000' in wet meadows and beside streams; July to Sept. Strong onion odor. 11 species in park; some species hard to separate unless you study the bulb coat.
