Locality: United States, California, Flowers roes-purple to white, @1/2" long, in dense, short-stemmed clusters. Stems 1 1/2' to 3' tall, flattened; leaves 1 to 2' long, grass-like. This and about ten other species may be found in park; however, validum is found in Alpine belts, 7,000' to 11,000'. This one found in wet woods near Tuolone Meadows at 10,000'.
