A long, curving sandstone ridge capped by a thin rocky layer of limestone with large, high-quality dry prairie on portions of N-facing slopes and across top. In slightly developed soil on slopes just below crest of ridge not immediately assoc. with C. abdita or C. meadii, but with Andropogon scoparius (dominant) Sisyrinchium campestre, Anemone cylindrica, Viola pedatifida, Pycnanthemum virginianum, Pedicularis canadensis.
