Habitat: Rocky, SW-facing slope of whitish chalky Green River Shale. A. tridentata on barren slopes with 75% rock and white clay cover. Cushion plant/bunchgrass community. With occasional Artemisisa tridentata.
Associated Species: With Hymenopappus filifolius, Minuartia nuttallii, Gutierrezia sarothrae, Linum kingii, Astragalus jejunus, & Packera cana.
