Habitat: disturbed sandy soil and rock on unused building site in desert grassland
Associated Species: Bothriochloa barbinodis, Heteropogon contortus, Bouteloua curtipendula, Pennisetum setaceum, Prosopis velutina, Aristida, Bebbia juncea
Description: infrequent (single patch of 100+ plants); perennial bunchgrass ~1m; inflorescence 25cm, spikelike with purple bristles
Occurrence Remarks: PAPAZ; plants removed after specimen collected
