Habitat: Alkaline (calcareous), shallow sandy loam mix over LaSalle limestone, exposed outcrop; cleared, mostly non-native grassland, with Dipsacus, Bromus, Toxicodendron in deeper soils; natives only upon the outcrop; in thin sandy soil, dry exposed conditions.
