Description: Small bunchgrass, does not exceed 0.2m tall; dioecious, such that males have erect tuft(s) that appears like a seed head and females have ovary near base that is generally hidden from sight; dead material gathered at base; fibrous root system; leaves ~2-3mm wide, bright green
