Description: Unidentified dicot (?). Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge, Broad Channel, Queens, NY. West Pond trail. Round/ovoid growth form, leaves present but few and narrow so plant has leafless appearance, sessile flowers (?) distinctive. Most conspicuous near repaired breach in West Pond trail where some plants reach large size, perhaps 2-3 feet in diameter. This appears to be same species noted growing beside east bound Belt Pkwy cycle track:
