Locality: United States, Florida, Miami-Dade, United States: Florida: Miami-Dade County. Coconut Grove: The Kampong of the National Tropical Botanical Garden, 4013 S. Douglas Road. Growing near the the point, just a few feet from the edge of Biscayne Bay (plot Q-10). Rhizomatous, clumping perennial grass 7 feet high and 8 feet wide. Inflorescence plume-like, cream-colored.
