The fen is less than 30 acres surrounding the lake. There are shruby patches of Cornus, Toxicodendron vernix, birch, and aspen, and large patches of Typha and Phragmites. There are many streams 1m wide, one larger one on the north side of the stream. Evidence of maintenence with burn piles and woody cuttings. 10-15m from north edge of lake, 80m east of cement sidewalk. Short vegetation here, dominated by Schoenoplectus, Dasiphora fruticosa, and a few Carex clumps. Ground moist, but not puddling. 100-120m east of stream to river. Large patch of flowering pitcher plants 30m to the northeast of quadrat.
Population - Clumped, not common in immediate area. Closest population 10m east of quadrat.
