Locality: United States, Arkansas, Greene, From ASU. Take east Johnson ave. for 2 mile. Turn north onto main st./ hwy 141 for approx. 10 miles. The park is on the left. Enter the park, drive 1/4 of a mile, specimen was collected on dogwood lane towards the east.

Habitat: Sandy loam soil. Relatively dry area growing on the side of a hill.
Associated Species: Oak, hickory, sycamore, dogwood, and paw paw.
Description: Small tree approx. 7 feet tall. Trunk covered in prickles, with distinct growth rings at the joints. Leaves compound with terminal leaves. Fruit are in terminal inflorescences. Fruit are bluish- black with light red stems. Base of petiole very swollen.
