Prairie fen with sedge meadow zone common throughout, wooded fen with many tamaracks (Larix laricina); lots of Frangula alnus. Very long, narrow fen. Split by the headwaters of the Grand River. East side owned by The Nature Conservancy, west side mostly privately owned. Grand River is too deep/silty to cross without use of footbridges. Many zones in fen. Periodic shurbby zones; invasives; Phalaris arundinacea common. Meadow in southeastern lobe of prairie fen; much of the area is covered by Dasiphora fruticosa; shrub encroachment prevalent on all edges, which is primarily Frangula alnus. Other species in area include Toxicodendron vernix, Andropogon gerardii, Valeriana uliginosa, Typha latifolia, Cladium mariscoides, Rudbeckia fulgida.
