Prairie fen with sedge meadow zone common throughout, wooded fen with many tamaracks (Larix laricina); lots of Frangula alnus. Very long, narrow fen. Split by the headwaters of the Grand River. East side owned by The Nature Conservancy, west side mostly privately owned. Grand River is too deep/silty to cross without use of footbridges. Many zones in fen. Periodic shurbby zones; invasives; Phalaris arundinacea common. Sedge meadow with significant shrub encroachment; shrubs including Frangula alnus, Cornus foemina, Betula pumila, Toxicodendron radicans. Larix laricina also in area; herbaceous species include Eupatorium perfoliatum, Thelypteris palustris, Solidago gigantea, Carex stricta.
