Habitat: Large fen with high quality portions on eastern edge. Beautiful large Larix laricina trees shelter very diverse ribbons of fen. Large west portion is dominated by weedy species including Agrostis gigantea. Phalaris arundinacea dominates the fen/woodland interfaces. Bordered on north by creek and on south by woodland upland. Agrostis gigantea dominated area in western portion of prairie fen; about 30m west of Populus tremuloides grove; ground moist and slightly hummocky; common species include Carex stricta, Campanula aparinoides, Eutrochium maculatum, Solidago altissima, S. gigantea, Symphyotrichum firmum, and Iris virginica. Many dead or dying Cornus amomum shrubs in area.
