Very shrubby lakeside fen. Mostly sedge meadow and wooded fen. Dominant vegetation includes Carex stricta, C. hystericina, Rosa, Frangula alnus, Larix laricina, Toxicodendron vernix, and Symphylotrichum firmum. Invaded by Phalaris arundinacea, Frangula alnus, and Rosa multiflora. Some boggy areas in the northeast. Drosera rotundifolia were found on Sphagnum hummocks in wooded fen. In southern section, ATV or truck activity, in open sedge meadow. Possible hunting site. In southern open sedge meadow portion of fen, 100m north of southern border, 300m east of Riker Lake. Area dominated by Carex, Thelypteris palustris, Rubus, Asteraceae, and Frangula alnus. 1-5 saplings every 1m2, shrub clusters every 25m2. Quadrat is in cluster of Cornus with some Frangula alnus. Also Toxicodendron vernix in area. Ground hummocky and ATV tracks common, soil moist. Deer beds in and near quadrat.
