Lake side prairie fen. Mostly Cyperaceae, Cornus, and button bush dominated marl zone with some Asteraceae and Dasiphora fruticosa near the wooded borders. Invaded by Phragmites, Phalaris arundinacea, and Frangula alnus. In large northern section of fen, 200m east of Little Portage Lake, 5m south of Randazzo boardwalk, 5m northwest of 2m tall Frangula alnus. Cyperaceae dominated inundated marl flat. Dominant species include Cladium mariscoides, Juncus, and Schoenoplectus with some Iris, Scleria, royal fern, button bush, Sambucus canadensis, and Frangula alnus. Ground flat, wet, and grey.
Population - Common, 1-2 plants very 4m2. Many flowering, up to 50cm tall.
