Lake side prairie fen. Mostly Cyperaceae, Cornus, and button bush dominated marl zone with some Asteraceae and Dasiphora fruticosa near the wooded borders. Invaded by Phragmites, Phalaris arundinacea, and Frangula alnus. In large north section of fen, in the northeastern portion, 200m west of Mt Hope Road, 40m east of channel, 5m west of Typha latifolia stand, 4m north of 4m tall Betula pumila shrubs. Area dominated by Dasiphora fruticosa, Thelypteris palustris, and Carex with some Salix, Cornus, and Frangula alnus. Ground with small, mossy hummocks.
Population - Common, 1-1.2m tall. Low to ground. 1-3 shrubs per 1m2 for 20m2. Seen with Dasiphora fruticosa, Thelypteris palustris, Iris, and Eutrochium maculatum.
