Bordered on north by woodland as well as on southern edge, but southern edge has a railroad and nearby row-crop agriculture. Typhaspp. appear to be heavily impacting fen. Cyperaceae and Dasiphora fruticosa dominated area with some Rhamnus alnifolia. Cyperaceae species include Schoenoplectus acutus, Carex sterilis, Carex tetanica, C. leptalea, C. lasiocarpa, and Eleocharis rostellata. Muhlenbergia richardsonis also present.
