Clint Pogue CP334
United States, Michigan, Jackson, Lime Lake Fen
Small fen located between two lakes. Remnant patch of prairie fen with majorly altered hydrology due to historic marl mining. Water table lowered dramatically, which results in much drier soils. Very marly area dominated by prairie grasses. Established game trail through quadrat; mostly graminoid cover with some Frangula alnus. Poa pratensis is the most common grass; quadrat northwest of shrub pocket; in between two small Juniperus.
