Clint Pogue CP334
United States, Michigan, Jackson, Lime Lake Fen
Small fen located between two lakes. Remnant patch of prairie fen with majorly altered hydrology due to historic marl mining. Water table lowered dramatically, which results in much drier soils. Very marly area dominated by prairie grasses. 10m north of shrub line; about 20m east of shore with clear view of the lake; still Poa pratensis/Bromus pubescens dominated, but much less overall cover; Dasiphora fruticosa, Parnassia glauca adjacent to or in quadrat; most are grasses; soils moist but not wet. many Juniperus trees in area.
