Small fen located between two lakes. Remnant patch of prairie fen with majorly altered hydrology due to historic marl mining. Water table lowered dramatically, which results in much drier soils. Very marly area dominated by prairie grasses. Andropogon gerardii, Dasiphora fruticosa co-dominated area in southern lobe of fen; about 10m east of lake shore; shrub encroachment to the north, south, and west; mostly by Frangula alnus. Other common species include Rudbeckia hirta, Daucus carota, Euthamia graminifolia, Bromus pubescens, Doellingeria umbellata, Pycnanthemum virginicum. Ground moist but not wet.
