Small fen located between two lakes. Remnant patch of prairie fen with majorly altered hydrology due to historic marl mining. Water table lowered dramatically, which results in much drier soils. Very marly area dominated by prairie grasses. Poaceae dominated area in western portion of prairie fen; about 15m east of Lime Lake; located in small lobe between areas of shrub encroachment; south of large, dying Ulmus americana; many Populus tremuloides saplings in area; grasses in area include Andropogon gerardii, Sorghastrum nutans, Schizachyrium scoparium, Poa pratensis; other species include Zizia aurea, Parnassia glauca, Rudbeckia hirta and Solidago ohioensis. Ground moist but not wet.
