Lakeside prairie fen around Braxee Lake and smaller Little Braxee Lake to the east. Sedge and Dasiphora fruticosa dominant with Salix, Cornus, and Toxicodendron vernix shrubs. Dense stands of Typha with moderately deep water separate fen on north side of Braxee Lake. Heron rookeries (old bog and current rookery) border the north side of fen. Invaded with Typha angustifolia, Phalaris arundinacea, Phragmites australis, and Lythrum salicaria. Northeast side of Braxee Lake, 100m west of wooded border, 250m south of Heron rookery, 60m from lakeshore. Area dominated by Cyperaceae with some Dasiphora fruticosa, Typha, and Phragmites australis subsp. americanus. Ground mostly flat with standing water.
Population - Budding. On wet soil with Cyperaceae. Common, 2-3 per 1m2 for 20m2.
