Prairie fen surrounded by small wood pockets and agricultural fields. Several vegetaion zones: sedge meadow, wooded, marl. Most previlent species include Cyperaceae, Dasiphora fruticosa, Cornus, Symplocarpus foetidus, and Typha. Some Phalaris arundinacea near woods on north section of fen. Many small creeks zig-zag fen (less than 1m wide). Woody cover includes Larix laricina, Betula pumila, other birches, and Toxicodendron vernix. In west-central portion of prairie fen, 50m east of western border, 40m north of stream on southwest edge of aspen and Toxicodendron vernix grove, 20m south of Schoenoplectus flat. Area dominated by Carex and Asteraceae with frequent shrubs of T. vernix, Betula pumila, and aspen. Ground hummocky and moist.
Population - Clumped, common, seen on moist soil with Carex, Eupatorium perfoliatum, and other asters.
