Fen on county and private land and managed by The Nature Conservancy. Grand River travels through center of fen (4m wide). Near river area dominated by Cyperaceae, Typha, and Dasiphora fruticosa; shrubs of Rubus and Cornus near woodland upland edges. In central (east-west) portion of Prairie fen, south of Grand River and east of tributary, 300m north of Buck's property, 400-500m west of eastern border. Area dominated by Typha, Carex, and Lythrum salicaria. Frangula alnus and Rhamnus alnifolia, and Cornus saplings and shrub common every 1m2. Ground hummocky and wet, puddles in footsteps.
