Fen on county and private land and managed by The Nature Conservancy. Grand River travels through center of fen (4m wide). Near river area dominated by Cyperaceae, Typha, and Dasiphora fruticosa; shrubs of Rubus and Cornus near woodland upland edges. In southeastern portion of prairie fen, 150m north of southern border, 100m west of wooded eastern border. In shrubby grove of aspen, white pine, Toxicodendron vernix, Cornus, and Rhamnus alnifolia. Herbaceous vegetation includes Carex, Poaceae, and Asteraceae. Ground hummocky and moist with some ant mounds.
Population - Isolated, no common. Young leaves with long white and soft hairs. Basal leaves only. Mature leaves becoming smooth.
