Elevation: 315 meters (1033ft)
Habitat: Fen on county and private land and managed by The Nature Conservancy. Grand River travels through center of fen (4m wide). Near river area dominated by Cyperaceae, Typha, and Dasiphora fruticosa; shrubs of Rubus and Cornus near woodland upland edges. Southern part of prairie fen, 80m North of Buck's property, 200m west of wooded eastern border. Open fen with some shrub encroachment (Frangula alnus and Cornus). 3-5 saplings under 1m per 1m2 for 20m2. Dominant species include Carex, Cornus, Thelypteris palustris, and interspersed with asters. Ground hummocky and moist. Massassauga found near quadrat (7 pairs of rattles).
