Prairie fen with sedge meadow zone common throughout, wooded fen with many tamaracks (Larix laricina); lots of Frangula alnus. Very long, narrow fen. Split by the headwaters of the Grand River. East side owned by The Nature Conservancy, west side mostly privately owned. Grand River is too deep/silty to cross without use of footbridges. Many zones in fen. Periodic shurbby zones; invasives; Phalaris arundinacea common. Typha latifolia dominated stand, Carex stricta also abundant; relatively weedy area; ground inundated about 30m east of woodland corridor and about 20 m south of shrubs; Lythrum salicaria common in area; Thelypteris palustris, Impatiens capensis, and Symphyotrichum puniceum present.
