Prairie fen with sedge meadow zone common throughout, wooded fen with many tamaracks (Larix laricina); lots of Frangula alnus. Very long, narrow fen. Split by the headwaters of the Grand River. East side owned by The Nature Conservancy, west side mostly privately owned. Grand River is too deep/silty to cross without use of footbridges. Many zones in fen. Periodic shurbby zones; invasives; Phalaris arundinacea common. Sedge meadow with Larix laricina to the north; stream 30m to the northwest; Hierachloe sp. In area; Betula pumila, Frangula alnus, and Dasiphora fruticosa are common shrubs in area; Ulmus grove; Cypripedium sp. Seen 25m to the north.
