Large north-south fen; multiple ownser; many arms; large expanses of Carex stricta. Fen elongated and amoeboid with many small armas and large amounts of edge. Oak uplands often inserted intro prairie fen as peninsulas. Oftern large amounts of open water due to beaver flooding. Asjacent to railroad that runs the entire length of the fen. Southern portion of fen (S of Munger). Quadrat in east edge of high quality patch with Dasiphora fruticosa and Carex sterilis. Quadrat in shrub-encroached portion dominated by Cornus sericea. Common sedges include Carex stricta and C. sterilis. Other common species include Pycnanthemum virginicum, Cirsium muticum, Thelypteris palustris, and Solidago altissima. Ground moist.
