Large north-south fen; multiple ownser; many arms; large expanses of Carex stricta. Fen elongated and amoeboid with many small armas and large amounts of edge. Oak uplands often inserted intro prairie fen as peninsulas. Oftern large amounts of open water due to beaver flooding. Asjacent to railroad that runs the entire length of the fen. Moist plateau between high quality fen and railroad tracks. Juncus effusus very abundant in area. Drier than other part of the fen; this area supports many species include Pycnanthemum virginicum, Apocynum cannabinum, Helianthus gigantea, Eutrochium maculatum, Thalictrum dasycarpum, Andropogon gerardii, and Bromus ciliatus.
