Large north-south fen; multiple ownser; many arms; large expanses of Carex stricta. Fen elongated and amoeboid with many small armas and large amounts of edge. Oak uplands often inserted intro prairie fen as peninsulas. Oftern large amounts of open water due to beaver flooding. Asjacent to railroad that runs the entire length of the fen. Carex stricta dominated pocket just west of train tracks. Many shrubs in area including Toxicodendron vernix, Cornus sericea, and Cornus foemina. Larix laricina lines the pocket. Herbaceous species include Solidago ohioensis, Pycnanthemum virginicum, Eutrochium maculatum, Rubus pubescens, Lycopus americanus, and Thelypteris palustris.
